RE: BOWIE NO. 2 MINE (PERMIT NO. C-96-083), NEW PERMIT APPLICATION
The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 33, Article 34,
Section 118, Paragraph 3 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 22, 1996, an application
for a permit to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-96-083, by Bowie Resources Limited,
was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in
the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining initiate from this date of filing.
The applicant proposes to conduct underground coal mining operations on land located approximately
five miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado. The permit azea is located in portions of the following
