The
fan is a Spendrup Model AMP-2000-80-12. The correct fan location is
indicated on the attached map which is a reduced version of Exhihit A
from the Permit Application. This is the same indicated location of the
fan that is now in use aC the mine. A concrete structure will connect
the existing portal to the new fan. I have reviewed the descriptions of.
our surface facility in the existing and proposed permit applications and
I believe the wording will not require any modiCica[ions to correctly
handle the new fan. Mention of the fan can be found in General Requirements,
2.04.3; the Operation Plan, 2.05,3; and the Reclamation Plan, 2.05.4
regarding the removal of all surface facilities and sealing the mine
entrances.
The new concrete structure mentioned in conjunction with the fan
installation essentially consists of an eight foot high concrete extension
from the exhaust portal entry. The reinforced formed concrete walls would
extend approximately 35 feet from [he portal and be bull[ on concrete
footers. The end of the concrete structure will be formed by a concrete
block weak wall with the fan being connected by metal duct work to the
northwest formed concrete wall. The top of the portal extension will be
a concrete slab. A concrete pad will be poured as a fan foundation. The
complete fan installation will be in accordance with Pfine Safety and
Health Administration's regulations.
1dST/ct
cc: Bruce Collins
Marv Adam/Paul Mohr
Sincerely,
~~1.~.~a-.
