I
expressed the following concern to him when he was in the office.
-Double completion well-
• Needs a sand filter pack around the casing through out length;
• Packer should have bentonite and thickness should be specified;
• Steel casing may corrode in Menefee necessitating additional work;
Inconsistency in proposed monitoring plan-
• Coal Gulch well should have quarterly analysis;
oF' Oro
~-' R
R=
~~ b
.•~~~ o
Roy Rnmer
Governor
Michael B. Long
Drv~sion Director
-Location of 92-2. I would like to see it on a minor synclinal structure in the area
rather than an anticlinar structure. Actually, if there is any drawdown, it will be
exacerbated in that well, so I can live with the location.
-Will have to file for a drilling permit and post a bond.
After he left the office, I read the memo more closely and had the following additional
concerns.
-The last paragraph suggests that they want a completion assessment out of this
submittal. I envisioned this letter as a progress report. Review of the October 20
letter suggests that completeness is dependent on the availability of some aquifer
physical test information. I think we're looking at a March 20, 1993 completion
date at the earliest, if they finish drilling and pump tests by February 20, 1993.
-The Messier Well should have field parameters taken monthly too.
CWB/yjb
m:\oss\yjb\coalgulch
