Simpu~n <br />State EnKineer <br />~~-~ 0'' 1996 <br />rllrriCian pr f'u'. u~an• fc n.; r+rrl!1[~/ <br />RE: Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C-96-083), New Permit Application <br />Dear Mr. Waldron: <br />I'm in receipt of a letter dated August 20, 1996 from Mr. Jim Stover, P.E„ consultant <br />for the company applying for the referenced permit. <br />Mr. Stover's letter indicates he's pursuing a variance from the Water Well Construction <br />Rules to address one of the concerns raised in previous correspondence.. Additionally, Mr. <br />Stover explains sediment load benefits/problems as they specifically relate to the Deer Trail <br />Ditch and Fire Mountain Canal indicating that this is not a concern nor problem on these <br />ditches. I have no information to indicate Mr. Stover isn't correct in his evaluation of <br />sediment load on these ditches. <br />Finally, Mr. Stover explains the water supply for the mine and it appears that if mining <br />water demands can be met by the 0.5 cfs Deer Trail ditch water right and it remains in priority <br />that a plan for augmentation will not be necessary. <br />Therefore, Mr. Stover has apparently addressed the concerns of this office and we have <br />no objection to this application because of adverse water resources nor water rights impacts. <br />Sincerely, <br />Chuck Roberts <br />Professional Engineer III <br />CGR:jmg <br />7328L.cgr <br />
