Building, Roam 270 <br />1823 Stout Street <br />Declver, CO 80202 <br />RE: Energy Fuels Energy 1 and 2, acid Ecl®az1 Parks Mine Plan <br />Dear Mr. Crane: <br />We have received the Office of Sisface ;lining's correspondence of February 7, <br />1980, requesting t'ie State Historic Preservation Officer's conclsrence with the <br />following procedures: <br />1. The Office of Surface Mining has determuied that these sites (5RT24, SRT33, <br />5RT34, 5RT35, 5nf1.11, SR:f112, and SRT115) are not eligible for inclusion i.n the <br />National Register of Historic Places. With the information provided trlis office, I <br />conci.u~ that thane resources do not meet the eligibility criteria for inclusion ir. the <br />National Register. <br />2. The Office of. Surface Mining has determi*+pd that two sites (Foidel Canyon <br />School and 5RT32) are eligible for inclusion in the National Register. Based upon the <br />doci~entation provided with this correspondence, I concLS with the agency's determina- <br />tion that SKi32 meets Criterion D, and the Foidel Canyor. I request that these ncffinatians be sulmitted to this office for my review. <br />3. It is my opinion *_hat there will be no effect by the Energy Fuels mining <br />operation on these eligible resources if the conditions in this correspondence are <br />adP.ered to. <br />4. We alsc anticipate consultation with this office if subsurface resasces are <br />encountered ding construction in order that such resources can be evaluated and <br />appropriate mitigation *++Pa~+**es can be developed, approved, and implevented. <br />Therefore, in the national interest, and to avoid any unnecessary delays, this <br />project may proceed as platmed. <br />Ibcum~:tation of this office's comaents should be forwarded to the Keeper of the <br />
