During the Board of County
Commissioners regular meeting on March 25, 1996, where representatives of Bowie Resources
presented their plans to the County Commissioners, there was discussion regarding the
appropriateness of the Commissioners holding a public information meeting on the application to
solicit public comment from area residents prior to the Board submitting its comments to the
Division of Minerals and Geology. Although the County lacks any land use or permitting process
that requires such a public meeting, the Board thought it would be in keeping with the public
planning process that was in place in that area to host a public information meeting in the Paonia
area. The Board decided to place public notice of the meeting in the High Country Shopper as
residents of the North Fork area have indicated that this publication has the best coverage in the
North Fork.
Sincerely,
U l~I,~LYI,I~'~~iU
Susan S.
