Location: <br />Vegetation <br />To soil: <br />Subsoil: <br />Colluvium: <br />Hole Depth <br />Root Depth: <br />Mottling: <br />Water Table <br />SOIL SAMPLE PIT N0. 2 <br />Approximately five feet west of topsoil stockpile on <br />west side of property as shown on Soils Map (Map 1). <br />Fruit trees, native grasses, bare areas with sparse <br />vegetation (native grasses). <br />Dark brown and black soil material containing small <br />amounts of angular sandstone rocks occur to a depth of <br />15 inches. <br />Dark brown material containing angular sandstone rock, <br />thickness of 13 inches. <br />Tan to reddish brown material, contains frequent <br />occurances of large, angular sandstone rock. This <br />material was present to the bottom of the hole. <br />62" - hard rock was encountered preventing backhoe from <br />digging deeper. <br />44" <br />No noticeable mottling on rock or soil material. <br />Water table not encountered. No water present in the <br />pit. <br />NOTE: Rock size, frequency of occurance, and thickness increased <br />markedly with hole depth. <br />
