Dear Tom: Per our conversation of July 30, 1981, I have contacted Rayetta Colby at the State Historical Preservation Office to ascertain the method of obtaining a letter stating whether there are any sites eligible or which have been reg- istered with the National Historic Register within our Mine Plan Permit Area. I have sent her a copy of the previous Archaeological and Cultural Surveys done at the Orchard Valley Mine, on July 31, 1981. She will send to me on August 3 a form to be filled out stating the areas we are looking at, particularly Township, Range and Sections. Upon completion of this form Rayetta has informed me it would be approximately ten (10) days before I re- ceive any information back. So, I would hope to have the necessary informa- tion by August 17, 1981. Upon receipt of this information it will be im- mediately forwarded to Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division for incor- poration into the Orchard Valley Mine Permit. Also, you had questions concerning Map 49-Regional Geology. This map is currently being updated by Dames and Moore who are on contract to CWI for geological and hydrological field investigations. I should be able to have a final of this map to you for incorporation into The Orchard Valley Mine Permit by August 14, 1981. If the date of arrival of this map is not ac- ceptable to you and to the Division please notify me at once so that other plans may be made. Sincerely, Patricia M.
