On page three of your inspection report you stated
as follows:
Since there is currently no State approved water monitoring plan
and since pumping, which will affect the aquifer will soon occur,
it was requested the company submit a surface and ground water
monitoring plan to the State. The company hydrologist appears
to have a good grasp on the situation, but it is important the
State have input into the plan so that any possible detrimental
effects on the surface and ground water systems can be objectively
noted from a non-company viewpoint. The: plans should be sub-
mitted by May 1, 1980.
Accordingly, we have prepared and fully implemented a detailed and
comprehensive plan to monitor changes in quality and quantity of ground and
surface water near the subject mining operations.
Accompanying this letter is a map showing the location of surface
mining operations, the surface facilities of our underground operation
and the locations of all monitoring stations. The attached table provides
a list of constituents for which we will analyze and the frequency of
sampling.
.~. r
