Also, enclosed <br />is a list of legislation that applies to designated NNL's. <br />Regarding the Rimrock Coal Company's strip mining permit <br />application, the "Engleville" tract is not within the Raton Mesa <br />NNL tentative boundary but it is within the viewshed for Fisher <br />Peak. <br />A NNL is a nationally significant natural area that has been <br />designated by the Secretary of Interior. These areas represent <br />the best examples of the ecological and geological features <br />composing our Nation's natural history. <br />Please consider the Raton Mesa NNL in your review and <br />determination of the permit application. <br />If you have any question, please contact Kay Salazar of our <br />office at 969-2857. <br />Sincerely, <br />Robert J.
