<br />-2- <br />that the company's material balance, assuming the 160 overburden swell factor, <br />projects an overall material deficit of approximately 52,700 cubic yards of <br />material. The company should amend its post-mining topographic maps and <br />narrative descriptions to depict and describe its plan to accommodate this <br />deficit of backfill material. in order to assure resolution of this entire <br />concern prior to a stage in the mining operation which will allow flexibility <br />in accoimrodating the backfilled deficit among the various pits and stockpiles, <br />the Division deems it appropriate to impose the following stipulation upon <br />permit approval. <br />Stipulation: <br />THE DIVISION DIRECTS TRINIDAD BASIN MINING COMPANY TO AMEND ITS <br />POST-MINING TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS AND APPROPRIATE PERMIT APPLICATION <br />NARRATIVES TO SPECIFICALLY DISCUSS ITS PLAN TO ACCOMMODATE THE <br />PROJECTED BACKFILL MATERIAL BALANCE RESULTS PORTRAYED IN CORRECTED <br />TABLE V 1 OF THE AMENDED PERMIT APPLICATION. <br />THESE APPLICATION AMENDMENTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE DIVISION <br />FOR REVIEW NO LATER THAN 60 DAYS FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE <br />PERMIT. MINING SHALL NOT PROCEED BEYOND CUT NO. 13 OF PIT <br />NO. 4_PRIOR TO WRITTEN APPROVAL BY THE DIVISION OF THESE <br />AMENDMENTS. <br />XXIV. Special Categories of <br />Trinidad Basin Mining Company proposes to auger mine contemporaneously following <br />contour pit surface extraction at the Trinidad Basin Mine. Their plan is <br />found to be in compliance with the req~:irements of the permanent program <br />regulations. <br />The majority of the Trinidad Basin Mine contour strip mined permit area comprises <br />a "steep slope mining" area, in the opinion of the Division. The material <br />analyses and stability analysis contained within the amended application docu- <br />ments derrnnstrate the operator's plan to be in compliance with the performance <br />standards and design standards of the permanent program regulations. <br />
