Draw, and Grassy Creek have TDS concentrations <br />ranging from about 300 to 4,000 mg/1. <br />3. <br />4 <br />5 <br />6. <br />7 <br />8 <br />Wetland values <br />No wetland values have been identified within the <br />proposed permit area. <br />Floodplain/unstable geology concerns <br />Two areas along Sage Creek (outside of the proposed <br />permit area) have been identified as alluvial <br />valley floors (AVFs). <br />Threatened or endangered plant/animal species <br />The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has indicated <br />that the following threatened or endangered species <br />may occur in the area to be disturbed by mining <br />operations (USFWS, 1995a): <br />bald eagle <br />peregrine falcon <br />whooping crane <br />Colorado squawfish <br />razorback sucker <br />bonytail chub <br />humpback chub <br />(Haliaeetus leucoceAhalus) <br />(Falco nerearinus) <br />(Grus americana) <br />(Ptychocheilus lucius) <br />(Xvrauchen texanus) <br />(Gila elegans) <br />(Gila cvoha) <br />Migratory birds of high Federal interest <br />The following migratory birds of high Federal <br />interest have been observed on or near the Yoast <br />Mine: Cooper's hawk, ferruginous hawk, sandhill <br />crane, wood duck, long billed curlew, and burrowing <br />owl. <br />Renewable resource/unique agricultural values <br />No prime farmlands or unique agricultural values <br />are present within the proposed permit area. <br />Recreational resource values <br />Due to the limited amount of Federal surface <br />ownership within the proposed permit area, <br />recreational resource values are limited to those <br />who are able to obtain access. The major <br />recreational value within the proposed permit area <br />is big game hunting. <br />7 <br />
