r
'+ ~ Richard A. Mills
May 8, 1980
Page 3
7. Additional acreage south of the tipple (1.5 acres) is requested to
be included in the permit, to provide an area for a sedimentation
pond. Also, 5.0 acres are requested to be added to the permit to
contain two sedimentation ponds on the northwest side of county
road no. 49 northeast of the Pit 3A area. The trade for this
acreage is also from the 40 acres in Section 24. Energy Fuels
Corporation owns all surface in those areas in this item, and in
No. 6, as per the previous permit.
Two additional parcels are requested to be added to the Permit to
accommodate road alignments, which for reasons relating to acces-
sibility, are outside existing boundaries. These parcels are
located in the SEA of the SW~y of the SE's of Section 13, Township SN,
Range 86W, and in the SW~ of the SW's of the SE's of Section 12,
Township SN, Range 86W. The addition of these parcels, plus the
other additions, totals somewhat less than the 40 acres withdrawn
from the Permit in Section 24.
8. The two temporary overburden storage areas in Section 12, TSN,
R86W, will be graded during the summer of 1980, as previously
permitted.
9. The shop and parking location for Pit 3, originally proposed to be
located southeast of Tipple 3, is located as shown on Map 1, for
reasons relating to the desire and practicality of being proximate
to the mine activities.
It is proposed that these facilities be left for the use of the
Middle Creek Mine, to be reclaimed at the conclusion of those
activities.
10. The permanent overburden pile in Section 24 previously permitted
contains not three million cubic yards as permitted, but only
1,079,730 cubic yards (on 16.5 acres) with an additional 181,000
cubic yards (on 8.3 acres) in the road to that pile. This pile
will be graded to the approximate original contour during the
spring of 1981, with soil replacement to occur in the summer of
1981, and seeding in the fall of 1981.
11. Bonding:
Pit 3 and Middle Creek Mine activities as permitted are bonded at
$200,000 within the following parameters:
