De a: ul :ad_~ i1i'r~7_, .~~ <br />TO: CHIPS BARRY, DIRECTOR, MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION <br />FROM: HAL D, SIMPSON, CH1EF, WATER MANAGEMENT BRANCH <br />SUBJECT: SHERIDAN-M UNGER CANYON, GARFIELD COUNTY, APPLICATION <br />FOR LIMITED-IMPACT MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT <br />As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for a coal <br />mine located 20 miles north of Loma, The proposed operation will have <br />very little effect on the prevailing hydrologic balance or on adjudicated <br />water rights. We recommend approval of the application. <br />It would appear that they have a viable water right although it is currently <br />only a conditional water right.
