b. Culverts YB-4, 5, and 6 have been enlarged due to the revised
routing used in the mining area.
44. The runoff from the two drainages local:ed between Culverts YA-
3 and YA-4 will be diverted away from the road fill. Riprap
will be placed at the base of both fill area slopes to divert
the water to Culvert YA-3. These two drainage areas were
included in the SEDCAD+ calculations for the sizing of Culvert
YA-3, which will handle any flows from these drainages.
45. SCC has included in the narrative, a description of the
intersection occurring between a "dirt: road" and the proposed
Road A at Station 74+25. This "dirt road" and others are
similar to the County roads in the area. Approaches similar
to those alornl the tie-across haul road will be constructed on
the fill slopes of Road A and stop :signs will be placed on
both sides of the haul road. Access will be maintained for
those people who utilize the "dirt road".
46. Exhibit 13-10.6 has been revised so that it does coincide with
Exhibit 13-11.1. One error was that the elevations were
incorrect on the profile portion of the map. You should now
be able to match up the profile of Exhibit 13-10.6 with both
Exhibit 13-10.5 and 13-11.1. Also, the end of Road A on the
profile was riot located properly. It has been moved to the
correct location. Station 161+03.17 on Exhibit 13-10.6 should •
be matched with Station 0+00 on Exhibit 13-11.1.
47. The landslide/mud flow area as depicted by CDMG, has not been
field verified at this time and, therefore, the stability
question cannot be assessed. In the interest of permit
submittal, the monitoring road has been removed from the map.
Mining is not: being requested in the area of the CDMG noted
slide location and, therefore, should not present any
problems.
48. Northwest Colorado Consultants (NWCC) were retained to conduct
a geotechnic~il investigation of both the proposed haul road
and the main. sediment pond (Pond 010).' This information
gathered was primarily intended for SCC design use. It was
submitted to the Division to comply with Regulation No.
4.03.1(1)(3) and to provide information to the Division
regarding they sections pertaining to cut and fill slopes.
The geotechnical report is presented according to the standard
of practice. The data, material properties, and analysis
appear to be correct. The geotechnical field investigations
and soil laboratory tests were conducted to provide SCC with
adequate so:Ll characterization to verify the proposed
structures could be constructed with adequate safety factors
and would bra stable. The results: of this geotechnical
investigation show this is the case. •
l0
