<br /> <br /> <br />Shrubland reference areas. These vegetation types occur in the <br />1982 study area as well as on both the north and east leases. CMLR <br />stated that a new Galleta/Cheatgrass reference area could be established <br />to represent all three mine permit areas. In setting up the reference <br />area, the affected area of all three mines would be randomly sampled <br />for cover, production, and woody plant density. Sampling procedures <br />would be the same as those used in 1982 and would satisfy CMLR statistical <br />requirements.
