Thanks for meeting with Jim Greenlee and myself recently. As we
discussed, the mine is approaching the Northern boundary defined in the
current mine and reclamation plan. Specifically Lot 21 as described on
pages 3 and 5 of the current mine and reclamation plan (Attachment 1).
Lots north of this area are within Federal Coal Lease Number C-033301.
This area is properly defined in the new permit application. With the
August 28, 1981 deadline for the review period now in effect, a request
to be allowed to continue mining into the defined area is made.
Pages 3, 4 and 5 of the new permit application are included as Attachment
II. Note the specific lots of interest are 16, 17 and a portion of 19.
An Operation Plan Map is included as Attachment III. Current progress
and the projected date of reaching the northern limit of Lot 21 are shown
on the map.
The following mining statistics apply:
Present Mining - 5 entry North Development on 80 foot center line
square pillars.
Projected Extraction Rate - 800 tons per day or 16,800 tons per month.
Actual Extraction Rate - 615 tons per day.
