Mr. Fred Banta Page Six
Mr. Floyd Johnson
March 24, 1982
area is imperative if we are to maintain present levels of production
and employment. Unlike many major coal producers, the Bear Coal
Company does not have vast amounts of coal reserves or large amounts
of financial backing. We would like very much to continue providing
employment for local people and producing coal to help maintain our
customers' needs.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We realize that you are
working very diligently to assist the Bear Coal Company with our
permit revision. We want to continue to maintain open lines of
communication with the Division and OSM. Specifically, I invite any
of your staff working on this matter to feel free to contact Alan
Czarnowsky or me with any questions or requests. If there are any
misunderstandings as to what was discussed in our meeting in light of
the comments contained in this letter, please contact me immediately.
Sincerely,
BEAR COAL COt4PANY, INC.
William A.
