- • • <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division proposes to approve, in part, an <br />application for a permit to conduct coal mining submitted by Storm King Mines, <br />Inc. for the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine. The proposed surface coal mining <br />operations are contained within Sections 6, 7, and 8, T6S, R90W of the 6th <br />P.M. the Partial approval covers only those areas denoted as permit, <br />affected, and disturbed areas on Figure 4.2-4 of the permit application. <br />Surface owners of the area to be affected are Storm King Mines, Inc. and Mr. <br />Barton Porter. <br />The approval decision is based on a finding that the proposed mining operation <br />will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act. C.R.S. 1973, as amended, 34-33-101 et seq., and the <br />regulations promulgated pursuant to the act. <br />Stipulations have been included in the approval to ensure environmental <br />protection by the surface coal mining operation. Copies of the proposed <br />decision, including the stipulations can be obtained from the Colorado Mined <br />Land Reclamation Division, 423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. Any person with an interest which <br />may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal <br />hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. <br />Such request must be made within 30 days of the first publication, be in <br />writing, and state with reasonable specificity the reason for the request and <br />the objection to the proposed decision. <br />
