Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Planning Director Natural Resource Trustee <br />615 Macon Avenue, Room B-5 <br />Canon City, CO 81212 <br />Re: Northfield Mine (Permit No. C-2006-085) <br />New Permit Application <br />Deaz Fremont County Planning Department: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article <br />33, Section 118, Pazagraph 3 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 22, 2006, an application <br />for a permit to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-2006-085 by Northfield Partners, LLC, was <br />considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado <br />Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Boazd for Coal Mining initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to conduct underground coal mining operations on land located approximately 3 <br />miles south of Canon City. The permit azea is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 22, 23, 24, Township 19 South, Range 70 West <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Canon City. A copy <br />of the application is available for public inspection at the Fremont County Courthouse. For additional <br />information, to provide written comments, or request an informal conference, contact the Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-3567, within thirty days of the last publication of the public notice in the Canon Ciry Daily <br />Record. <br />Sincerely, <br />Kent A.
