-June 9 letter, Rule 2.06.8(3), Alluvial Valley Floor Determination
1. After seeing the Foidel, Middle and Fish Creek floodplains in person on
June 30th, you agreed to drop this request.
2. Energy Fuels will provide a map showing present and historic irrigation
systems and irrigated lands on a topographic base. Energy Fuels will also
expand the discussion on pages 2.06-32 through 2.06-34 with revised pages
and supportive material to qualitatively evaluate irrigation success on
agricultural productivity.
3. As we discussed on June 30th, the backhoe pits were used to determine
alluvial litho logy, water production, topsoil and root zone depth, and were
completed as alluvial monitor wells. The requested information is con-
tained in the application as referenced below: locations of backhoe pits
(Map 114, Energy Mine No. 3 Groundwater Hydrology), logs and other data
collected Erom backhoe pits (Exhibit 1, Drill Hole Logs, last 11 pages).
-June 9 letter, Rule 2.06.8 (4), Application Contents for Operations Affe
1. No response required.
2. As shown in Exhibit 1, Drill Hole Logs, the lithology and hydrologic char-
acteristics of the alluvium is almost identical between the Foidel, Middle
and Fish Creek floodplains. The U.S. Geological Survey pump test on well
008-FM-6 in the Foidel Creek alluvium, described in Exhibit 19, Aquifer
Test Data, is representative of the Middle and Fish Creek alluvium.
3. Energy Fuels has provided statements of the type and quantity of agri-
cultural activity performed on the potential alluvial valley floors on
pages 2.06.19, 2.06-32, 2.06-33 and 2.06-34 of the application. Energy
Fuels will submit a qualitative economic analysis with revised pages and
supportive material.
4. Energy Fuels will commit to install and monitor an alluvial monitor well in
the alluvium of Middle Creek near where it leaves the northeast corner of
the permit area, with revised pages and supportive material.
The responses submitted in this letter reflect my understanding of our
discussions on June 30, 1981. If you have any problems with the responses, feel
free to contact me or Gary Myers, so that we can clarify these issues.
Sincerely,
ENERGpY FUELS CO RIIP//ORATION
~/ ~cacr~cGt~~
G.P.
