identified down dip from the roof falls that alloy measurement of the <br />collected flov+s at a safer location. The tv+o recninmended monitoring <br />points are in the ~1 tdest Sub t•1ain, Entry ~4, Stations 14+00 and 15+60. <br />The preliminary measurements indicated a temperature of 9.9°c and 8.9°c <br />and a pH of 7.4 and 7.8 at the tv+o respective monitoring sites. <br />3. The only measurable ground water inflov+ issuing from the mine wall <br />occurred in the l ldest Sub plain, Entry "l, Station 23+20. A water <br />sample taken from the wall had a temperature of 13.8°c and a pli of 7.6. <br />The recommended monitoring point for tfre inflov+ described is at a <br />collection point in tyre rtl l•Jest Sub Main, Entry .'.4, Station 20+40. <br />4. Seepage from the old mine workings east of the ;'1 florth plain is apparent <br />from about the n7 cross-cut to cross-cut r14. A collection point for the <br />flov+ seeping from the old mine workings was found in the ~l North Main, <br />Entry 3, Station 27+g0. Preliminary measurements at that point indicated <br />a pH of 6.45 and a temperature of 13.2°c. <br />5. A collection point for much of the ground water inflov+ is located in the <br />North P4ain, Entry ,`-2, Station 27+80. The sump at this location is the <br />point v+here accumulating vrater in the mine is pumped to the surface. <br />Grand Mesa Coal Company currently monitors the total flov+ pumped and the <br />average discharge rate has been 11 gpm. It is recommended that GMCC <br />measure the water quality parameters at this location as well. <br />Miscellaneous points that were observed to be wet, dripping, or v+here puddles <br />were present are shaded in green on the !.line l•lorkings I.1ap.
