Dept. of Natural Resources
Enclosed is a copy of the scope and schedule for the Grand Mesa Coal
hydrology evaluation. The schedule represents a final document available
to MLRD by the first of August, 1982, which will answer concerns which have
been raised during the review period of the permit application.
In an effort to stay on schedule, GMCC is attempting to have a driller
on sight by April 19, 1982.
If it is possible, it is requested that at least a preliminary review
of the attached plan be performed by MLRD by next Wednesday April 14, 1982
in order that GMCC could start the program with confidence that it is a
good, acceptable plan. It would be beneficial to have your initial reading
also on the policy questions (reference J.K. Greenlee's letter of March 24,
1982) and the test panel concept which after some analysis GMCC subscribes
to by that same date.
Respectfully yours,
William S.
