Eox 226
Delta, Co. 81916
~ RE: Grand Mesa Exploration Project
Our File /tC034-81
~ Dear Mr. Reschke:
Regarding your letter of March 31, 1981, permission was given to
drill the two holes in advance of the current mining face in light of
deteriorating roof conditions in the mine.
~ It is requested that results of drilling be submitted to the
q Division as quickly as possible. In our phone conversation Zast week,
I] you indicated that the first drill hole showed only 14 feet of forma-
l ti on material separating the alluvial-glacial material from the coal
seam. You should include in the report any proposed modifications in
the mine plan resulting from the poor roof conditions and drill hole
information.
Reclamation of the drill sites will require sealing of the drill
holes in compliance with Rule 4.07,`site grading, topsoiling, and re-
seeding. Grand Mesa should submit a plan for reclamation of these
sites to be incorporated into the permit application.
If you have any questions, please give me a call.
Sincerely,

~+
Dan hfa thews,
Reclamation Specialist
DM/cg
