Shelton
Director
M E M 0
October 18, 1982
To: Sandra Emrich
From: David Craig ~~~
Re: Foidel Creek Mine - Completeness Review
I have completed the second completeness review for the proposed Foidel
Creek Underground Mine. My first completeness review (memo of September
21, 1982) identified two issues which were instrumental in deeming the
original application incomplete. Specifically, the two issues raised
were: (1) the lack of a geochemical analysis of roof, floor, and coal
strata (Rules 2.04.6(2)(a)(IV)(D) and 2.05.4(2)(f)); and, (2) the lack of
baseline hydrologic data for the Twenty-Mile sandstone aquifer (Rule
2.04.7(1)). Both of these issues have been at leasm minimally addressed
in the revised application. Therefore, I feel that the geology, ground
water, and mine portal sealing portions of the application are now
complete.
Note: My adequacy review of the Foidel Creek mining application will
probably take between one and two weeks to complete.
cc: Jim Pendleton
