aquifer in the area of the proposed mine, then
information should be submitted to support that. This is
where a more specific identification of geologic units
monitored at the Yoast Mine and how these units compare

would be beneficial to the Division's review of the
permit application package.

SCC should be advised, however, that the Division will
not likely approve a technical revision which eliminates
monitoring of the Trout Creek Sandstone Aquifer, because
the requirement for monitoring the aquifer is intended to
verify the operator's prediction of no impact or minimal
impact to the aquifer. Without monitoring data, this
prediction cannot be verified.
