The areas approved for extraction
are limited to the five development entries shown as the shaded areas on
revised Exhibit C, Preliminary Mine Layout Map, which was submitted to the
Division as part of the technical revision request on July 17, 1981. No pillar
removal will be permitted unless the operator has received approval and has
implemented a subsidence monitoring plan in accordance with the conditions
contained in stipulation NS of the OSP1 approval of the Minor Modification to
Coal Mining and Reclamation Plan for U.S. Steel Corporation's Somerset Mine.
Additionally, Goestern Associated Coal shall undertake no additional surface
disturbance associated with the Blue Ribbon Mine (except for mitigation of
identified cultural resources, implementation of the subsidence monitoring net-
work, and necessary hydrologic monitoring).
The notice of this technical revision approval was published on July 23, 1981.
If no comments are submitted to the Division by August 1, 1981, the approval
of this technical revision becomes final and mining can commence in the areas
approved under the revision.
Zf you have any questions concerning this revision or other matters, please do
not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
/~xC~ l~Y~d-
Tom Gillis
Reclamation Specialist
TG/mt
