f <br />Actual location of each cluster area will be accomplished by overlaying <br />the transparent acetate grid over the aerial photo. One of three, four, <br />or five grid lines on the y-axis running through the area represe,,n~Nyr~g <br />one-sixth of the total area will be randomly selected and one F~~,<~ <br />four, or five of the grid lines on the x-axis will be selet andom. <br />The center of the cluster will be located where thes~~i andomly-se- <br />lected grid lines cross. ~~`j~~~ <br />Within each cluster, one of six gri ~s, `fwo paces apart, running per- <br />pendicular, and one of six grid lin~s~two paces apart, running crosswise <br />0 <br />in each quarter of the ar ill be randomly selected. Where these dis- <br />sect each other, a plq~v~i J~ located. This will be repeated a sufficient <br />number of tim ~ ~ ain an adequate sample, with each of the quarters <br />of the a ~~~g one quarter of the samples. This procedure will be <br />followedr locating both the transects and plots, with the restriction <br />that no transect will cross another. One-half of the transects will go <br />across the cluster area and one-half will go in the opposite direction. <br />
