MINING AND MINE METHODS. <br />The main opening is the Lackey incline shaft, same f <br />being•located on ridge east of Flk Park, 4 x 8 ft., two <br />compartment (skip and ladder road) dipping to the north west <br />at angles varying from 60° to 25°, becoming flatter vrith <br />rTe th., De th of shaft 300 ft. <br />P P ~i <br />The shaft has levels at depth of 30 ft.; extending 20~ <br />ft. east to breast and 70 ft. west to surface, same being .III. <br />~~adit level. The vein east of shaft has been stoped close to Illy <br />surface on this level. The second level at a depth of <br />141-1/2 ft. frog the collar of the shaft, extends east 218-1/2 <br />feet, and west 67 ft. At a point 25 feet east of shaft the <br />foot wall vein is drifted on 36 ft. to the west, same <br />extending under shaft. A stops averaging 20 ft, in height <br />extends from a point 25 ft. east of shaft, east 85-1/2 ft. <br />Cross-cuts have been driven north and south from vein on <br />both sides of the shaft. <br />The third level at s. depth of 221-]:/2 ft. from collar <br />of shaft extends east 39-1/2 ft. to breast. <br />No work is b ¢ ng carried on under ground at the Ik~ 1 <br />present time, and none is contemplated until the completion ;~;II <br />of the .mill. <br />The hoisting is done by a skip attached to 5/8 in. <br />steel cable, with socket fastening. !°leight of load located, <br />'.2500 pounds. Distance hoisted, 300 feet. <br />The Colorado code of signals is employed, being.given <br />l <br />by a wire attached to a 10 inch gong. <br />The track in skip road consists of 4 x 4 inch timbers, I <br />covered with strap iron. <br />1.Sine methods, drifting and overhand etoping, using <br />"Little I7onder" air drills, and single and double hand drilling. <br />Timbering, atoll and set, using red spruce and pine, pre- ~I <br />-'µ~ pared by hand.
