MINING AND MINE METHODS.
The main opening is the Lackey incline shaft, same f
being•located on ridge east of Flk Park, 4 x 8 ft., two
compartment (skip and ladder road) dipping to the north west
at angles varying from 60° to 25°, becoming flatter vrith
rTe th., De th of shaft 300 ft.

The shaft has levels at depth of 30 ft.; extending 20~
ft. east to breast and 70 ft. west to surface, same being .III.
~~adit level. The vein east of shaft has been stoped close to Illy
surface on this level. The second level at a depth of
141-1/2 ft. frog the collar of the shaft, extends east 218-1/2
feet, and west 67 ft. At a point 25 feet east of shaft the
foot wall vein is drifted on 36 ft. to the west, same
extending under shaft. A stops averaging 20 ft, in height
extends from a point 25 ft. east of shaft, east 85-1/2 ft.
Cross-cuts have been driven north and south from vein on
both sides of the shaft.
The third level at s. depth of 221-]:/2 ft. from collar
of shaft extends east 39-1/2 ft. to breast.
No work is b ¢ ng carried on under ground at the Ik~ 1
present time, and none is contemplated until the completion ;~;II
of the .mill.
The hoisting is done by a skip attached to 5/8 in.
steel cable, with socket fastening. !°leight of load located,
'.2500 pounds. Distance hoisted, 300 feet.
The Colorado code of signals is employed, being.given
l
by a wire attached to a 10 inch gong.
The track in skip road consists of 4 x 4 inch timbers, I
covered with strap iron.

"Little I7onder" air drills, and single and double hand drilling.
