MINING qND MINE METHODS. <br />The main shaft is of tvro compartments, sunk ou the vein and <br />inclines to the vrest. It is timbered with agttare seta, and is e_ <br />quipped with a good larder. Landings are provided every 16 feet. <br />This shaft has not been vrorked for some time. I'fork is being carried <br />pn at the present time in the Climax Aio. 1, near the mine. Theca <br />vrorlangs are in the same vein =tnd underneath the old workings. <br />They have no mane. <br />Tunnel. <br />The tunnel is 4 1~2 x 7 i'eet and 1,300 feet from the entrance I~Yi <br />to the main basalt dyke, and 300 feet east to s chute and man-way <br />that leads to the miHrt stope and shaft. This connects by upraiaoe <br />with the rEgy shaft. The buildint.;s are near the mouth of the +,ur:nel ~I <br />and on both sides. The blacksmith shop is to the left, and com- <br />~i, I <br />pressor and motor room to the right of the entrance.
