SURFACE PLANT. <br />;ime, does <br />The surface plant consists of a power house, 40 x 40 ft, <br />' ores, or <br />frame, covered with elaterite, located on the lower side of the <br />road, about 100 ft. S, 1:, of the mouth of the tunnel, contain- <br />ing two Pelton wheels, one 5 ft „ and one 26 in. in diameter, <br />connected to a water pipe line, about 1500 ft. Long, having <br />diameters of 20'; 18", and 16" respectively, and. fed by water <br />from Chicago Creek, The 5 ft, Pelton wheel furnishes power <br />for a 6 drill >;eyner Compressor, while the 26 in, Pelton wheel <br />furnishes pourer for a No,l Connersville Blovaer, and a 15 H.P, <br />generator, all of which are located in poser house, <br />Besides the above, the poser house contains a pipe <br />cutting and threading machine, and small room :Por office. The <br />above is af6orded fire protection by hose connection. <br />Blacksmith shop, 15 x 3O ft„ frame covered vrith <br />elaterite, and located 10 ft. south from '1: of tunnel, and <br />containing one forge. <br />Tool house, 6 x A ft, frame, covered with elaterite, <br />at mouth of tunnel, <br />One large frame bunk house and boarding house, located <br />about u00 ft, evest of tunnel, <br />Several small living houses and barn, located shout <br />1000 ft. east of tunnel, in gulch, <br />As stated above, Chicago Creek furnishes the water <br />supply, <br />The surface is lit by electric light, <br />Surface transportation effected by good wagon road, <br />
