The main tunnel <br />~ is 4x7 feet in the clear, driven 700 feet in an Eastyrly <br />~ diiirec•taon on the foot wall of the of thevein. The first <br />300 feet of the tunnle io well timbered with tunnel sits <br />l <br />and lagged wdth round lagging, about 350 Peet. from the <br />j portal there is a crosscut run South about 100 feet, the breast <br />I <br />of which is in the solid granite. There are, no buildings <br />i <br />near the ~prortal of the tunnel. The single hand driils <br />are used. The timbers are of red spruce and a.re prepared <br />~ ty machinery. The timbers are in good condition. Underground <br />,' tramming is done by cars to aded and run by hand. The <br />I <br />cars are 71ine G: Smelter Co's. Tracisage, ]i2~ T. rails and <br />I!S inch gauge. Ventilation is obtained by a small hand <br />blower operated by hand. There are no noxious gases met <br />with so this is sufficient. All the old timbers from <br />I <br />undeP-ground workings have been remnved. <br />I <br />li <br />
