T 0 P O GRAPH Y. <br />This group of mines is located upon a Rocky and precipi- <br />tous Mountain and with an altitude of 1300 feet. Water supply <br />is vert* plentiful.. A very larks lake at mine. The mine build- <br />. ings are all near the lake with +.he main tunnel about 35 feet <br />above the lake. A good trail connects the mine and mill a <br />distance of three miles and a good wagon road connects Mill <br />with Siiverton, Colorado, also S, N. R. R, to mill. <br />G F O L O G Y, <br />A good geological survey has been made of this district. <br />The character of. the country rock is volcanic. <br />O R E-A N D-0 R FrB G D I F S. <br />The character of ore bodies is fissure veins. There are five <br />veins that have been worked anon. The Silver Lake vein N 45° <br />W, New York vein N and S, Lettex "G" vein N 70° W and the dip <br />is s0° N.F, The vein vari=s in width from one to twenty feet <br />_._ _... <br />?side ~~ith and average of four feet Ride, length 20000 feet, <br />Heip,Izt 1000 fast, The character of vein fill:~ng is quartz, <br />Pyrite, Galena, Chalcopyrite, Barite, Cerrusite, Angle site, <br />pyraluaite and Rhodonite. Ail of the vein filling, is eoneentra- <br />tion ores. Ore sheets usually vertical about sq0 to 800 Peet <br />long. Character of Ra11a or enrlosing rocks andesite with ptTD- <br />phyry and Rhyolite dikes, <br />0 R ~' S. <br />Concentration ore Chalcopyrite and Galena carrying; small <br />amounts of Gold, Silver and lead. No free milling ore. Gangue <br />is largely quartz, <br />S6R FACH-PLANT. <br />e <br />_2_ <br />
