I MINING qND MINE METHODS.
The main opening is an incline shaft14X9 ft.l2 compartment(bucket and
ladder °ay)E20 feet deep pith pater standing at the 450 ft.point at
the present time, Shaft dips to the North Kest at an angle of about 80°,
The s}~ft }yas levels at the following depths;- •
200 ft.levcl extends East 200 ft.and hest 3U0 ft.to breast;
300 ft.lovel oxtends East 750 ft. and West 350 ft.to breast;
400 ft.level extends Last 300 ft. and Plest 50 ft.to breast;
500 ft.level under pater;
600 ft.level under a-ater,
An air shaft is located 110 feet East of the main shaft and extends from
the surface down to the 400 ft.level,At surface acme is covered over
having an air box extending several feet ir+to the air,
Winze connects 400 and 500 ft.levels about 130 ft.East of main s}ynft.
Pein etoped ih places from 200 ft.level to surface~2.00 to 300 East and
West of "'sin shaft and 300 to 400 East of same,
At present time work is being carried on in atopea between 300 and Opp
East~300 Eeat leve1r406 {Best level and cleaning out 400 East level.
The nearest workings are tl+ose of the Hazeltine located about 75U ft.to
the S.W.
The hoisting is done by bucketrweight of load hoisted 1500#~distance
hoisted Opp ft.T~ucket is attached to 7~8° lock strand steel cable(Loeachen)
in fair conditionlby safety chain with clip fastening changed 3 months
previous.
The shaft is provided with 1~4" wire bell line attached to a 6°goIrg,
The Colorado code of signals is employed copies of which Pere found
posted in engine room and at collar of abaft.
The method of mining employed is that of overhand etpping using singls
hand drills.
The atoll system of timbering is employed using red aprdce and pine pre..
pared by hand.
T}+e underground tramming is done by 2 trammers using bucket and trolley
