<br />PdINING AND MINE PSETHODS,
<br />The t7iscansin vein is developed by three adita,
<br />or tunnels, The lower 19isconain tunnel is the only one in
<br />operation at the present time, same being 4 x 7 ft, in the
<br />clear, and 1200 ft, long,
<br />At a point 1000 ft, from the mouth of the tun-
<br />nel, a raise 128 ft, high connects with the Illinois
<br />workings, which are 68 ft, below the upper l7iseonsin work-
<br />ings, Said raise is caved and inaccessible,
<br />1040 ft, from the mouth of tunnel, is located
<br />the Southward winze, 28 ft, deep, connecting with the back
<br />of the Cora City stope, 200 ft, high,
<br />Russell and Corcoran sub lessees, are working
<br />block of ground above tunnel, and west of raise (from raise
<br />west 125 ft,) employing six men,
<br />Southward, sub leases, is working block of
<br />ground below tunnel level, and ad3oining Southward winze,
<br />Tunnel is in bad condition, being dangerous
<br />owing to defective timber and caved ground,
<br />A frame blacksmith steep, 8-1~2 x lI ft,
<br />containing one forge, is located 8-1/2 ft, east of the
<br />mouth of tunnel,
<br />A frame ore house, 15 x 18,3 ft; is located
<br />17 ft, east. of the mouth of the tunnel, adfoining blaok-
<br />smith.shop,
