driven On a uniform grade of lyo and onlg two sate of timbers are
required at the portal. At a dietanoe of 160' from the portal a
winze is sunk to a depth of 60'. At 140' from the portal a orose-
out is driven south 100-and forth 40'. At a distanae.of 600'
Yrom the portel,a or0ee vein ie.interseoted and and a drift is
run on this vein 60'.eout~i and EO' north. At s dietanoe of 800'
from the portal anotheY o;oss vein is intereeoted and ,an upraise
made on the vein E07' whioh oonneots with Tunnel Ho. 1.
The upraise above mentioned is kept in good oondition,
is properlg equipped with safe and enYfioient ladders and is
need for an additio~el exit.
