METHOD OF MINING AND TIMBERING.
The mining is done on the Pilled stops eyetem,,the
ground being drilled by both. hand and machines. The
chutes to the tunnel level are of the Common board type
and the broken material ie trammed from them by hand in a
18 cu.ft. tram car. The only timbers necessary are the
round rough timbers far cribbing up the man ways. tVork
now being done is at a point about 300 feet from the portil.
