'~'
-- THE BANGKOK-CORA BELL MINING COMPANY
--- 619-630 FxcM1ange 9nilding
P. 0. 9oz 1411.
~ DEYVER, Cor.o., Jan. lo, ,gog.
"' To the 5'POC/zholders itt Tloe B¢~egkok-Cora Bell MiningCoutp¢r,y;
At a recent meeting of the directors it was by unanimous action considered to be desirable [hat the stock-
--. holders in The Bangkok-Cora Bell Mining Company beadvised as to present conditions iu the affairs of the Com-
pany, and to that end the president was instructed to prepare a statement to be sent to all stockholders.
--- Owing to labor troubles The Union Leasing Company, which at the time held a lease on our properties,
+vas obliged to quit work upon the properties of the Company in June, t8g6, and for the same reason all mining
--- spun Pryer Hill ceased and the underground workings filled up with water.
In March, tgoz, a lease of the properties of the Company was made to Messrs. Newell mad Page of Lead-
. _ _. title. These gentlemen also secured leases upon adjoining properties and organized The Pryer Hill Mines Coua-
Pally, Procuring capital, mainly from the )last, with which to undertake the serious and hazardous task of un-
. _ _. n'atering the extensive underground workings of the leased premises. '
As a result of continuous and vigorous work over a period of four months by the Leasing Company,
. _ _- lining an average of r,yz8,ooo gallons per day over the whole of said period, the mines have been successfully
nnwatered and the work of opening up the underground workings, clearing the levels of waste, timbering, etc.,
has proceeded up to the present. Connections with the workings, levels and drifts of our Properties have been
made from the rl Paso shaft, and the work of actual mining of ores has commenced. The liresent production of
~___ ores from our properties is about twelve to fifteen tons per day. The grade of the ores is at present not accu-
total}' known as no smelter setflements have been received, but it is tuaderstood that the ores are of good grade
(ur that locality. It is believed, by those who are familiar with our ground, that a part of the ore bodies, dis-
'-"- dosed by the recent discoveries of The Progressive Mining Company, is included within the boundaries of our
properties at the northerly end, and that when sufficient depth is reached and connections are made, the output of
---' ma properties will he increased very considerably, To reach these ore bodies the Leasing Company is now sinking
a new shaft on leased properties adjoining ours. It is reasonable to expect that within hvelve to fifteen months
---- these new bodies of ore which are believed to exist, will he reached, and that from that date the production will be
continuous and in very considerable amounts.
---- It is gratifying to be able to report that the Company has no indebtedness and that taxes have been kept
Gdly paid up. Daring the past five years no salaries have heen paid to ollicers and no office or other expenses
-~-- allowed, except such nominal amounts as were necessary for the holding of stockholders' meetings.
A balance sheet furnished by the secretary showing present conditions is appended below.
---- it is very desirable that the secretary be furnished with the present adch•ess of each stoccholdcr, and to
tllal end each stockholder is requested to till out and send to James L-I. Cramlcu, secretary of the Comptury, P. O.
.-.. Ilnx I¢I1, Denver, Colorado, the enclosed postal ctu•d, so that the stock ledger nvey be made to show the correct
pnstofiice address of every stockholder.
_.._ Respectfully submitted,
LOUIS IL J:\CICSON,.
President.
---- ~ r~
SL'CRIi'I'ARY'S RliP01<'I'.

' -- 'I'1tiA1.
