<br />The Kentucky Belle lode is developed by four edit,
<br />or tunnel levels, Numbered 1, 2,3, and 4 respectiaely
<br />Tunnel No,l, is 4 x 7 ft, has a general course of N, 30° A4,
<br />and length of 63b ft,
<br />Tunnel No,2, (same size as
<br />No,l) is located 540 ft, elope
<br />measurement above No,l, and 280 ft, vertically above
<br />same, having a general course of N, 30° ~. and length
<br />of 175 ft, At a point about 80 ft, from the mouth of
<br />tunnel No,2, a winze is sunk to a depth of 45-1~2 ft,
<br />Tunnel No,3 is located 206 ft, slope measurements, and
<br />100 ft, vertically above No,2,
<br />Tunnels Nos, 3 and 4 were partially felled with ice,
<br />and did not admit of an e:camination,
<br />The method of mining, is that of over-hand

<br />P•ng. Drilling single handed, i
<br />Timbering is done by drift sets, employing
<br />sawed timbers prepared by hand,
<br />The underground tramming is done witIz one ton
<br />steel cars, Trackage consists of 1 lb, steel rails of
<br />18 in. gaage,
<br />Drainage is effected by the natural system
<br />through tunnels, ~

<br />an 8 in, pipe line, attached to a No, 5 Sturdevant suction
