SURFACE PLAIQT.
The power plant consists of one 2U H.P. upright boiler,using
Iron Idino ditch water carrying 70 lbs pressure and inspected I~ov.
20,1907. Coal is used for fuel.
The hoisting engine is steam 6 X R double flat friction. The
hoist is not equipped with a positive Indicator in plain view of
engineer,rrhom operates at engine. Age of engineer a4 ,years,exper-
ience as engineer 17 yrs. he is not addicted to the use of intox-
icating liquors. •
There is a shed over the collar of shaft. The head frame con-
siats of six B X 8 and 10 X 10 posts sad is 24 feet high. The
aheavewheel is t}iree ft in diameter and of cast steel.
Collar of shaft w}iere bucket is used is provided with good and
auffioient door to prevent any material from falling in shaft from
dumping. Smith shop in power horse. The engine room,black sudth
shop and furnace room are all under one roof.
There is ouitable protection a•airrst fire provided.
Timber yard on dump. The ore is dumped in care on track
The water supply is frcm Iron ?{ire ditch.
The surface transportation is by rail and wagon road.
The ore treatc~ nt employed smelting. The mine has no mill or re-
duction works.

The exploaivas used are the 40,Z 7~8ths Dupont povrder,caps XXX,Cor-
man inaoloid fuse.
Iron ar metal tamping bars are not employed; wooden tamping bars
are provided for employees.
Powder monkey not employed.
Explosives in excess of one days supply are stored under ground
on first level. Average amount of exploaivas kept in etorape 100
lbs. Ttie mine has no magazine for storing povrder~or any device for
thawing powder.
