The main tunnel is 2000 Peet long in one tYte Buffalo
Boy vei_•1. There is also a tunnel on the Old Abe about
420 feet long. The nature•of other-workings are, two
winzes from RufPttle Boy tunnel (51 and 26 feet) deep
and three raises 200', 65' and 100 feet respectively.
~?ork is cerried on at the present time in the main tunnel
and up on the Lei-71. The hoist is run bq electricity. -
About• 600 pounds are hoisted at one time for a distance
of 30 feet. A nen 5~8 inch cable iF being used which
has only bean used three months. A pull bell is used in
signaling with the Colorado code. No person 1a allowed
to• ride on loaded cage. No signals have beep posted yet.
The cage is loaded by shovel. The winces have not as yet
been provided •,~it2: guard rails. The tunnel is 2000 Peet
long and about 150 feet out to surface Prom the main
2000 foot drift. The bunk house, drS•ing room, ?'ltchen,
store room and ci!ange room are at entrance of tunnel.
The mine ifi not provided r^ith doors. There is no ore
being taken o-~t. ~t the present time, the nark being done
iF all dewelopement works by hand drilling.
The method of tlm~~ering Ss sccare sets. The timber is
pine 10 to 12 inches thick. Under~ound tramming is
by hand. The .^>;•at.em of vent.liation is a raise to surface
and en electric operated blower. The ladders are cafe
secure ~.nct accessible. The mine has more than one exit.
