The <br />ld. steam engine is a Hendey and D,"eyer, 14 x 20, It da a double drum, <br />link motion, with a square clutch and brake. Tho hoist'is equipped <br />vrith a positive indicator, in plain view of the engineer and is <br />operated at the en~•ine. The engineer is 3G years oi' age, has had <br />15 years of experience as an engineer, and is not addicted to the <br />~:ae of intoxicating liquors, <br />The shaft house is a wooden building, covered with corrugat- <br />ed iron roof, 24' x 64'. The head i'ra:~e is tvro-i•ost, 14~ x 14" <br />and 12" x 12" angle braces, 25' high. The sheave vrheol is 6' G°, <br />rope filled. Tine smith's shop is 7.0' x 20' frame building, The <br />engine room, sirai't, blacks~:Tith s)~~op and furnace room are all un- <br />der one roof, inhere is no suitable protection against fire provided <br />The dry or c''<rauge mouse ie an 18' x 20', i'rame building. The oi'fic- <br />es are 10' x 12', and are in the si:ai't house. There are fiee ore <br />bins, in an 18' x 100' wooden ore house. The water supply is i'rom <br />a spring at the head of Vlest !7111ovr Creole. The ligdrting is by <br />gasoline lamps, <br />The mine is reacized by a good war~on road. The ores are smel- <br />ting, the mine having no mill or reduction works. <br />
