quartz adjoining nazi afoot-inch bead of quaxta, leas deoompoaedg next a twelve
inch band of white quartz, galena, zinc, blends, fluor spar and white quartz;
next afoot-inch band of country rock tandeaite) followed by a twelve inch band
cf granular shits quartz with vu ~
g quartz ergatals near centre.
At the bottom of what is known as the T7.ora shaft a view was taken of
t're vein. ilwing to timber ft may fmposaibte to.get a good view. The hammer and
handle in the view is twelve inches long. At this point the vein material fills
the eatfre fissure but on either aide of vein the banding of country rocY, is ob-
servable. That inmrediately adjoining the north-east wall fs shown by annexed
photography which likewise illustrates the manner fn which these parallel fract-
ores may be linked or joined together.
Taro other vfeews are given of the veins, one in the }3orning and one in the
Japan. Using to °rtuckfng over° however, the banded structure does not show well
except with reading glass.
TYie foregoing will give a fair idea of the veins in this section ae they
e
w
-~
exiet. It is hoped that opportunity will be afforded to extend this woLk in the
future. By a series of comparative views some interesting and perhaps valuable
;i
conclusions s¢ay be drawn.
TSie most resa~.rkable feature of the veins explored in Savage basin is their
almost continuous mineralisation. C7hile portions of the veins axe richer in val- `
ues than others, yet wit}i few exceptions the vrhole vein from end to end is ore
t:nd will yield a profit in regular mining when properly equipped for economical `~
work. The values are also srainly confined within well, defined limits. In no
section of the Stato is mining apperantly freer from c}sncs t}uin in this and sows ~;',
ofpr parts of the San Juan. It is not probably that all the wine will prove as
't
'&
___ ---_ -J_ _ ~......,,~.
__
_ ______.
