,_ SURFACE PLANT.
The hoist is a 30 H.P. electric hoist, made by the Denver
Iron Works. 7t 1e equipped with s positive indicator in plain
view oY the engineer,and ie operated at the engine. The engineer's
age 1e about 48 years, and he has had about 20 years of experience
as an engineer.
Tho head frame is two poet, 10, x 10, and angle breaes,
and is 30 feet high. The sheave wheel ie 3 ft. rope Pilled. Tho
collar of the shaft is of sufficient height to prevent persons
from tripping and falling into shaft, and is provided with a good
and sufficient door, to prevent material from falling into shaft
from dumping.
The smith's shop la 12 x 12, wooden Luilding. The engine room
is 12 x 14, wooden building. The engine room, shaft, blacksmith shop
and furnace room are not under one roof. They have no Pire proteo-
tion at this time but they are providing same.
They have four ore bins, the ore house being 7.2 x 40 and 30
feet high, The water used 1s from the Altman Water Company, and the
lighting Prom the Colorado Electric Power Company.
The 0. S. and 0. C. D. Ry. rune to the ore house. The mine
