The hoisting is done by buckets. The men are raised and
lowered by the hoisting machinery, The weight hoisted is
1000 .pounds, distance hoisted is 6(~0 feet.
The cable is a 3~4 inch steel, which has been in use about
one year. Safety chain and clamps era used on the end of
the cable. These were changed in June, 1907.

The Bell Line is s 3~8 inch hemp rope, attached to a ten
