The main opening is a cross cut. tunnel 3920 Peet in length
where it taps the Gold Links vein. From this point of

I intersection the tunnel is, driven on the vein in a
northerly direction a distance of 4000 Yeet. A11 vein
matter is taken out for 1600 fePt_ long and an average oP
200 feet above said tunnel,, this is where sloping is
still carried on. The method of ore. extraction is over hand
sloping and d~Eifting with ,air drills. Ingersoll Reald air
drills and Waugh elopers. ~'he method of timbering 1s stulls
and square sets covered with lagging. The timbers are pine
~ and spruce, prepared at thY saw mild on dump. Underground
tramming is done by hand a;!d horses,, One ton steel ears
are used for tramming. Chutes are loaded by hand,,and
gravity. The system of vent~iiiation.is natural with an air
shaft through t o surface 4000 feet from entrance of
turmoel. Candles are used for lighting underground.
The mine has two exits one through the air shaft with a
