SURFACE PLANT.
Consists of a frame shaft house, 25~x 50; partly covered
with iron, containing a four post head frame, Pitted with a 3 Pt
iron sheave wheel, one 60 H. P, horizontal, return tubular boiler,
using mine water, carrying a.pressure of 80 lba, and in inspeoted
in April, 1904; a 9 x 15n~• P, steam engine, operating an old
style belt hoist, with,3 ft. drum, same being operated at shaft
by engineers. A positive indicator ig in plain view of the
above:. small 5 x 7 steam engine vrhich operates blower Por
black-smith Parge; black-smith shop on east side oP shaft house.
The engine room, working shaft, and blacksmith shop
are all under one roof, suitable protection against fire, being
provided by three hand grenades, and.'r:ose attached to Peed pump.
The collar oP the shaft is raised 18 in. above the
main floor, and provided vrith a door, in poor shape.
A Prams ore house, 13 x 14-1~2 Pt., covered with iron,
is located 10 Pt. east of shaft house.
Electric lighting is used on the surface.
