<br />HISTORY.
<br />This property was first opened in 1878 and has been
<br />worked at intervals sinco that date. It has been idle for
<br />about fivo years and ie now being re-opened. It has
<br />produced a largo tonnage of good grado copper oro, some
<br />car-loads running as high as 33°f, aapper.
<br />TOPOGRAPHY.
<br />The property ie situated on a stoop hillside, at an
<br />elevation of 7600 feet and ie aonneated with the D. and R.G.
<br />Railroad and Salida by a good wagon road. The ore shipped is
<br />trammed to the railroad on a traok, in throe ton cars, erhioh
<br />aro hauled by a team of horses.
<br />GEOLOGY AND ORE OCOURRENCE.
<br />Tho geology of thio diatriot is covered by .the Hayden
<br />Survey. The formation present is gneiss, garnet echiot and
<br />granite. The ore occurs only in the gneiss and wherever
<br />the vein roaches the granite it is out off.
