'fhc main winzc has been continued irom the 300 foot level to 450 acct. A prospecting winzc was sunk to
ft. thr rigln oithe main winzc at 365 foot point, and down to 4~0 feet, making a total of 225 feet of sinking. 150
ft. leer r.l drifting at the 300 foot level, 30 feet on the 400 Icvel in the prospecting winzc and 30 feet at the 450
f, Ircrl, r~r a total of i35 feet of development work below the \'umbcr 4 tunnel.
;, In the old workings there has been raises run, consisting of 305 feet of new raises, in which we laid
track for openiing the skip, and further opened up the old workings M• making 144 feet of new raise, in which
- rec Incr not yet ]aid the tom car track. Thcrc ryas also a large underground orc bin built at the lower end of the
tram track in the olrl workings; considcnhlc amount of timbering had to Ire done to make the ground safe.
._ 'fhrre was also bought and instaUcd an electric hoist and an electric Air Compressor plant.
•I•he Iftrist. called No. 2, is installed up in the old workings, and is used to deliver the orc from the old
- a,rrkinl;s to the underground ore bin on No. 4 Icvcl. 7•hc :fir Compressor is installed near Hoist No. 1, in
tunnel A.., 4, and is used to furnish compressed air toopemtc the machine drill, with which we drill the mck
_ iorhlasting. This machinery enables us to operate with a great saving over the old mMhods used before u•c
had it.
-Q _ _ _:,.~ Uuring the time of reclaiming the part of the old workings, we shipped more than $1200.Op worth of orc,
'r~^^^^^t and have ;dso discoecred some zinc orc of good grade further up in the old workings, but it will take several
?~~ ^"~ hunrlrcd dollars to finish the raise and lay the tram tack up to where this good orc is locatcrl, which will be done
as surm as possible after we get sufficient lands. :111 the work done has been done with a view to permanency,
''nrl :ts soon as w•e get to shipping orc, either up in the olrl workings or in the new workings below No. 4 tunnel,
n~c will be able to handle considerable tonnage with our present machinen-.
"I'he conditions are extremely good for soon opening up orc in both the drifts From the main winzc at 300
and •Ip0 feet below the main level, in fact some ore is now showing in the drift at 300 feet, and while not snf-
ficient in quantity to permit CIS to commence shipments, yet it looks cxtrcmcl}• promising and every stockholder
•-~-~) shotd4 feel much encouraged, and do all within his means to hasten the time w•hcn this property will begin to pay.
kecene strikes of rich ore in some of the adjoining properties makes ns feel more confident than ever, that
n is onl)' a matter o(a short time and a little more mone}' spent and our property will be on a paying basis.
fours for work,
