(Page 2) • •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-2000-084
INSPECTION DATE 04/25/01
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
This was an inspection of the Chris Aaegeson Pit #2 conducted by Erica Crosby of the Colorado
Division of Minerals & Geology. Charles Kuntz of Washington County District 2 was present
during the inspection. Weather conditions were clear and warm. Ground conditions were dry.
The Chris Aaegeson Pit #2 is located 15 miles North and 9 miles East of Otis in Washington
County. A 110 permit was issued to Washington County on August 30, 2000 to mine
approximately 9.9 acres in size.
A mine identification sign and permit boundary markers were noted. The site is actively
being mined. Topsoil has been stripped and stockpiled on the west end of the site. The
operator will need to seed the topsoil pile with a temporary seed mixture if the pile is to
remain in place for longer than one year. This is to protect the pile from wind and water
erosion. Please see page 3 for compliance due date.
The pit area is approximately 1 acre in size and less than 10 feet deep. Mining is moving
from east to west. The site is located just south of Rock Creek, but no mining is taking
place in the creek. The pit area is dry and does not intersect groundwater. The operator
anticipates a pit life of 8-10 years.
Z ~ H Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Charles Kuntz ^ BL
OPERATOR Washington County Dist. 2 ^ FS
STREET 610 1°` SCreet ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Otis.
